Ingredients

4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. butter
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
6 to 7 c. flour
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Mix rest in order given.
Mold into 2 or 3 rolls and wrap in wax paper.
Refrigerate until hard and cold.
Slice thin.
Bake in moderate oven.
