Company Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium cucumbers
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    4 c. cider vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    5 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cover whole cucumbers with boiling water.
    Allow to stand overnight and repeat this procedure on the next three mornings. On the fifty day, drain and slice in 1/2-inch slices. Combine sugar, spices, salt and vinegar.
    Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers.
    Let stand 2 days.
    On the third day, bring to a boil and seal in hot, sterilized jars.
