Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. Whole Yellow Peas
1 c. Yellow Split Peas
3 qt. Cold Water
1 Ham bone or small Shank
1 large Onion, diced
3 stalk of Celery, chopped small
1 sprig of Parsley
1 Bay Leaf
1 c. Carrot, diced
Preparation

Soak peas overnight, and then drain water before cooking.
Put ham bone in large pot, cover and cook for 1/2 hour.
Add whole peas, onion, bay leaf, parsley, and cook slow for about 2 hours. Remove ham bone from pan and set aside to cool, take any small pieces apart to add to soup later.
Add split peas, carrots, celery and cook for 1 more hour.
Make sure to keep adding hot water to cover peas at all times.
Check if peas are cooked and soup has thickened.
Add salt and pepper to taste...bonne appetit.
