Hummus(Middle Eastern Spread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. tahini (canned ground hulled sesame seed)
    1 clove garlic, peeled and sliced
    20 oz. can chickpeas, drained
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. white pepper
Preparation
    In an electric blender, whirl together the tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic salt and pepper until smooth.
    With blender running, tip center cap in the cover and gradually add the chickpeas, blending until smooth and a pale color.
    Stop blender as necessary and, with a rubber spatula, push the mixture towards the blades, to make sure all the chickpeas are crushed.
    Chill, tightly covered.
    Serve as a spread with crackers or small wedges of hot pita.
    Makes a generous 2 cups.
