Spiced Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can peach halves, drained (reserve syrup)
    2/3 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    8 whole cloves
    1 cinnamon stick (about 3 1/2 inches long)
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine 2/3 cup of syrup with the remaining ingredients.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
    Pour over peaches; cool, then cover and chill at least 24 hours.
    Serve at room temperature.
