Hot Huckleberry Cake With Sauce - cooking recipe

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. dark molasses
1 egg
1 Tbsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. grated nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. boiling water
1 c. huckleberries
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter.
Stir in molasses and beat in eggs. Sift dry ingredients together.
Beat them into first mixture, then slowly add boiling water.
Beat thoroughly.
Fold in berries. Pour into greased, floured 9-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Serve hot with sauce.
