Pumpkin Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. canned pumpkin
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. cut-up dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening together.
    Add beaten egg and pumpkin.
    Sift soda, baking powder and flour together.
    Add vanilla, dates and nuts.
    Fill muffin tins 1/2 to 2/3 full.
    Bake 20 minutes in 325\u00b0 oven.
    Makes 24 muffins.
