Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Mix well white and powdered sugars, butter, oil and eggs.
Mix well vanilla, salt, cream of tartar, baking soda and flour.
Blend all ingredients together and then chill.
With floured hands, shape into balls.
Place on cookie sheet.
Flatten with the bottom of a chilled glass dipped in sugar.
Sprinkle with colored sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in oven for about 15 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.
Do not overbake.
Makes good Christmas cookies and they freeze well.
