Salisbury Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. oil
3 medium onions, sliced
2 bell peppers, cut into thin strips
1 lb. ground beef round
2 or 3 slices bread, crumbled
1 egg white
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 c. water
1/3 c. ketchup or 1 can tomatoes
pinch of sugar
1/2 tsp. soy sauce
Preparation

Heat oil in skillet on medium heat.
Add onions and bell peppers.
Cook and stir until tender.
Remove to serving platter. Cover to keep warm.
Combine meat, bread crumbs and salt and pepper to taste.
Mix in egg white.
Shape into four 1/2-inch thick oval patties.
Place patties in same skillet.
Cook on low heat on both sides until desired doneness.
Transfer to serving platter with onions and peppers.
Re-cover.
Stir flour and some salt and pepper to taste into skillet.
Cook one minute.
Add water, ketchup or tomatoes, pinch of sugar and soy sauce.
If you use tomatoes, use less water.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens.
Pour over patties and vegetables.
