Sauerkraut Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut
    1/4 c. celery
    1/4 c. onion
    1/4 c. green pepper
    1/4 c. shredded carrots
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Drain sauerkraut, reserving liquid.
    Rinse sauerkraut under cold water.
    Drain well.
    Combine sauerkraut, celery, carrot and onion.
    In saucepan, combine reserved liquid, sugar and vinegar; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; pour over vegetable mixture.
    Chill overnight.
