Ingredients

2 c. heavy cream
2 c. half and half
3/4 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Heat cream, half and half and sugar until sugar melts and mixture heats.
Beat egg yolks, pour some of the hot cream into beaten yolks, mix well.
Add yolks to hot cream mixture and cook, stirring constantly until thickens, about 8 minutes.
Do not boil. Pour into bowl and add vanilla.
Cover and chill.
Stir before pouring into ice cream freezer and process by manufacturers directions.
