Pineapple Supreme Cake - cooking recipe

1 large can pineapple
1 c. sugar
2 (3 3/4 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 (9 oz.) tub Cool Whip
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
coconut
pecans
1 box yellow cake mix
Preparation

Bake cake as directed in long pan.
Punch holes in cake.
In a medium saucepan, bring pineapple and sugar to a boil.
Pour over cake.
Mix pudding as directed.
Spread over pineapple.
Mix cheese, Cool Whip and sugar.
Spread this on top of pudding. Sprinkle with coconut and top with pecans.
Chill before serving.
