Hard Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Karo light corn syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. Lorann flavoring oil
powder sugar
desired food coloring
Preparation

Sprinkle 18x24 inch strip of heavy duty aluminum foil with powered sugar. Mix sugar, corn syrup, water in large heavy saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310\u00b0F, or until drops of syrup forms a hard and brittle threads in cold water.
Remove from heat.
Stir in flavoring oil and coloring.
Pour onto foil, cool, break into pieces.
Store in airtight containers.
With the different flavoring you get a different color of candy. Peppermint - pink, Cinnamon - red, Spearmint - green, Lemon - yellow, Wintergreen - Pale green, Orange - orange, Butter - light yellow, Cherry - red, Raspberry - blue red, Chocolate - brown, Butter Rum - yellow brown, Grape - purple, Lime - yellow green.
