Calumet One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 1/2 c. butter or shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder together 3 times and set aside.
    Cream butter thoroughly.
    Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
    Add egg and beat very thoroughly.
    Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time.
    Beat after each addition until smooth.
    Add vanilla.
    Bake in greased cake pans at 350\u00b0 until done.
    Makes 2 large layers.
