3/4 c. cider vinegar
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/4 c. sugar, divided
4 Tbsp. cinnamon, divided
1 Tbsp. baking powder
2 c. sifted, enriched flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
4 Tbsp. butter or oleo, divided
heavy sour cream
Preparation

Combine vinegar, 1 cup of the sugar and 2 teaspoons of the cinnamon.
Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
Cook over medium heat 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Put in shortening; stir in milk with fork until a soft dough forms.
Roll out into rectangle.
Dot with 2 tablespoons of butter.
Roll up, starting at longer side.
Cut crosswise into slices about 1 1/4-inch thick.
Place out side up close together in deep baking dish.
Dot with remaining butter and sprinkle over remaining sugar and cinnamon.
Pour hot vinegar mixture over all.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve hot with heavy sour cream.
