Southern Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. okra, washed well and drained
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. cornmeal
    4 Tbsp. bacon drippings
Preparation
    If okra pods are large, you
    may have to boil slightly to tenderize.
    Cut off top and stem ends.
    Slice pods into 1/4-inch slices.
    Mix salt and pepper.
    Roll in cornmeal.
    Saute in hot drippings until tender and brown.
