Banana Date Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground mace
3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. pitted dates, chopped
1 c. ripe mashed bananas (approximately 3)
Preparation

Sift together first 6 ingredients.
Add sugar and nuts.
In separate bowl, mix remainder of ingredients.
Add to dry ingredients, stir until moistened.
Turn into greased 9 x 6-inch loaf pan.
Bake in a moderate oven at 375\u00b0
for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove to cake rack to finish cooling.
Store overnight before slicing.
