Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can sour pie cherries, sweetened to taste
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Pour cherries in a 2 1/2 to 3-quart deep dish casserole dish. In medium-size mixing bowl, beat shortening, sugar and egg together.
    Sift flour and baking powder together.
    Add flour mixture and milk alternately to the wet ingredients.
    Bake in oven at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
