Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. light Karo syrup
    1 stick oleo
    2 c. evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook until thick (in heavy pan) sugar and syrup.
    Add oleo; let it melt.
    Then add milk and cook at 245\u00b0.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour milk into syrup slowly, so boil doesn't stop--a must!
