Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    1 lb. brown sugar
    6 eggs
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. pineapple
    1 lb. pecans
    1/2 oz. lemon extract
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat well.
    Add 2 cups flour alternately with lemon extract.
    Fold in chopped fruit and nuts, dredged with the last 2 cups flour.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
