Chile Verde (Green Chile Sauce) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. chopped canned green chili
    1 c. vegetable or chicken broth
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Heat shortening or oil in medium-size skillet over medium heat.
    Saute chopped onion in shortening.
    Add flour.
    Cook 1 minute.
    Add all remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Serve over enchiladas or burritos.
