Mary Jo'S Famous Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
8 oz. margarine or butter (2 sticks)
    2 c. very cold milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
With a pastry blender or two knives, cut in margarine until the mixture is the consistency of cornmeal and peas.
Add the milk and bring the dough together by stirring gently with a flat-edged spoon.
If the mixture is too wet, add more flour.
If it won't come together, add more milk.
Place the dough on a well-floured surface and knead only 13 to 15 times. Roll out the dough to 1-inch thickness (1 thumb knuckle).
Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits.
    Bake 15 minutes.
    Yields 2 dozen biscuits.
