Soft Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
    Cook 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat and cool (do not drain). Mix
    and
    cream
    shortening
    and sugar.
    Add eggs and vanilla.
