Applesauce Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
    1 egg, beaten
    3 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    1 1/4 c. canned sweetened applesauce
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add nuts and mix lightly. Combine egg, shortening and applesauce.
    Add to dry ingredients. Mix until dry ingredients are dampened.
    Turn into a greased and floured 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Makes 1 loaf.
