Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 cup persimmon pulp
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins (if wanted)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cloves; cinnamon and nutmeg
Preparation

Oven set at 350.
Bake 15 Minutes.
Beat sugar and shortening until fluffy.
(This is important!
Don't quit too soon!)
Add egg and continue stirring.
With flour in a separate bowl, mix with soda, baking powder, salt, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add mashed persimmon pulp.
Add the flour blend.
Stir in the nuts and raisins.
Measure by tablespoons on a greased sheet and bake for fifteen minutes.
Place on a wire rack to cool so they will not steam against each other before putting into cookie jar.
