Almond Float - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
    2 1/2 c. cold water and 6 Tbsp. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
    2 tsp. almond extract
    1 c. mandarin orange segments
    reserved juice from oranges
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 c. water
    2 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Heat the sugar and water to make syrup.
