Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. whipping cream
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. real butter
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except for 1 cup of cream and 1/3 cup butter.
    Bring to a boil; slowly add the other cup of cream so that the mixture continues to boil.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Add 1/3 cup real butter one teaspoon at a time.
    Cook until candy thermometer reads 240\u00b0.
    Take off heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into a 9-inch square pan and let stand 2 hours.
    Cut into 1/2-inch squares and wrap in Saran Wrap.
