Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    2 fresh lemons
Preparation
    Place sweet potatoes in large saucepan.
    Add sugar, lemon juice, water and lemons (cut in halves).
    Stir to dissolve sugar. Pour over potatoes.
    Let stand 15 minutes.
    Cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender.
    Serves 6 to 8.
