Strawberry Glaze Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. fresh strawberries
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    red food coloring
    1 pie shell, baked and cooled
    1 1/2 c. strawberries
Preparation
    Crush 1 cup of the fresh strawberries and cook with water for about 2 minutes.
    Sieve pulp into separate bowl; discard.
    Combine sugar and cornstarch; stir into berry juice.
    Cool and stir until thick and bubbly.
    Add a few drops of red food coloring.
    Place 1 1/2 cup fresh strawberries in baked and cooled pastry shell.
    Pour half of the sauce over strawberries.
    Repeat layers with another 1 1/2 cups strawberries and remaining sauce.
    Chill.
