Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    Nutmeg or cinnamon (about 1/2 tsp.)
    4 c. dry bread in cubes (or \"day old\" bread, 4-5 slices)
    1/4 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Beat the eggs; add milk, sugar, and spice.
    Pour liquid over the bread in a 1-1/2 qt. casserole, let stand until thoroughly soaked.
    Add raisins if desired.
    Bake 20-40 minutes or until firm in a moderate oven, 350\u00b0.
    Serve with milk, jelly or any \"pudding\" sauce.
    I serve this with maple syrup and it tastes like French Toast.
    Shallow pan might take 20 minutes.
    Deeper dish takes about 40-45 minutes.
    Check on a regular basis.
    Double recipe for a 9 X 13 dish.
