Pronto Pups - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. cornmeal
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 lb. frankfurters
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix all dry ingredients together.
    Add egg and milk; beat with rotary beater until smooth.
    Dip franks in batter and fry in hot deep fat until brown on one side, then turn and brown the other side.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Serve hot with mustard, mayonnaise or catsup.
    Yields 8 to 10 servings.
