Sorghum Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 c. hot water
    2 c. flour
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Beat eggs well and add to creamed mixture.
    Add molasses.
    Combine flour, salt, soda and spices.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Batter will be thick.
    Add 1 cup hot water. Do not add extra flour.
    Batter will be thin.
    Pour into greased cake pan.
    Bake at moderate heat for 45 minutes.
