Bread Sticks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. hot milk
4 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
3 c. flour
1 egg white, lightly beaten with 1 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Mix hot milk, butter, sugar and salt in a bowl and let cool to lukewarm.
Stir the yeast into 1/4 cup warm water and let it stand for 5 minutes to dissolve.
Add the dissolved yeast and 2 cups of the flour to the first mixture.
Stir fast and add enough of the remaining flour so that the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Turn out onto a lightly floured board.
Knead for a minute or two and let rest for 10 minutes.
Resume kneading until smooth and elastic.
Put in a buttered bowl.
Cover and let rise until it doubles in size.
Punch down and roll out 1/2-inch thick.
Cut in 1/2 inch strips.
Put on buttered cookie sheets.
Cover and let rise.
Brush with egg white.
Cook 30 minutes.
Sprinkle them with coarse salt before baking.
