Ingredients

3/4 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. water
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/3 c. dry milk
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Mix in a 2-quart bowl the shortening, water and egg.
Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, dry milk, soda and salt.
Add to first mixture and mix well.
Stir in nuts.
Drop about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake near center of oven about 10 minutes or until springs back.
Cool and frost with 1 tablespoon of frosting for each cookie.
Fudge frosting is best.
