Pasta Fagioli (Beans) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean bacon
    1 large onion, chopped finely
    2 cans (16 oz.) pork and beans
    2 cans Del Monte sauce (8 oz.)
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 lb. ditalini macaroni
    heaping Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Sear bacon, until most of the fat has melted.
    Discard all melted fat and put bacon aside.
    Sear onion in olive oil, until slightly brown.
    Put in Del Monte sauce, allow to cook about 5 minutes.
    Stir in bacon and pork and beans.
    Sprinkle sweet basil. Heat 2 more minutes.
    In a large pot, cook ditalini as directed. Add salt to water.
    Drain and add mixture, mixing it very well. Heat together 3 minutes.
    Serves 6.
