Mama'S Lemon Sponge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    2 egg yolks, beaten
    1 c. milk
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, sugar and salt.
    Stir in lemon rind, lemon juice, egg yolks and milk.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Set in pan of water (1 inch).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
    Good after a heavy meal!
