Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. water
5 c. vinegar
1 c. salt
1/4 hamper cucumbers
Preparation

Wash and drain both dill and cucumbers well.
Sterilize jars and drain.
Pack cucumbers and dill in jars.
If you like, use garlic and hot pepper.
Put the jars of cucumbers in the oven and have them hot to handle before filling jars with vinegar mixture. Bring water, vinegar and salt to a good hard boil and keep boiling while filling jars and cucumbers.
Seal at once.
This makes 7 or 8 quarts of pickles.
