Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. butter
2 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 c. light molasses
1 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together and set aside.
Cream the butter and sugar.
Add egg and molasses.
Beat until fluffy.
Add dry ingredients. Chill and roll into balls.
Drop quickly in ice water, then sugar. Bake for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
