Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon, mace and nutmeg
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. blackberry preserves
Preparation
    Cream
    butter
    and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
    Sift flour, soda, baking powder and spice together.
    Add buttermilk and
    flour alternately.
    Stir in preserves.
    Makes 3 (9-inch) layers.
    Cook at\t350\u00b0
    until tested done.
    Use your favorite icing.
