Zwiebach - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 yeast cakes
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 c. warm water
    1 c. warm milk
    6 Tbsp. melted lard
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    11 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Let the yeast melt in the warm water.
    Mix all the ingredients.
    Save about 4 cups of the flour for later.
    With electric beater, beat eggs, sugar and salt.
    Add milk and lard. Add flour until it makes a nice dough.
    Let rise in a warm place until double in size.
    Punch down with floured hands and let rise again.
    Flour hands and form into small loaves in pan (15 x 15-inch).
    Let rise again, then bake at 350\u00b0 until light brown. Take out and let cool and then pull or cut loaves apart, then put back into pan to dry in a 300\u00b0 oven; do not burn.
    Can be frozen or stored in a closed container.
