Betty'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 sq. chocolate, melted
    1 1/3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg, vanilla and chocolate. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
    Add dry ingredients to egg mixture and alternately add 1 cup boiling water.
    Bake in 8-inch square greased pan for 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
