Aunt Mame'S Rhubarb Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. rhubarb, cut in 1 to 2 inch sections
    4 c. onion, cut fine
    2 c. vinegar
    4 c. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    dash of black pepper (optional)
    1/2 tsp. cayenne (optional)
Preparation
    Cook rhubarb and onions in vinegar until soft.
    Add remaining ingredients; boil until thickened.
    Seal in hot jars.
    Very tasty accompaniment for cold meats and cheese.
