Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. crisp rice cereal
1/2 c. pecans

Preparation

Melt in skillet margarine and sugar.
Add dates; cook and stir two minutes.
Turn heat off.
Slowly add egg, milk and salt.
Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add vanilla, cereal and pecans. Shape into balls and roll in coconut.
