Ingredients

1 pkg pie crust (2 crust)
1 c toasted walnuts, finely grated
5 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
3 medium red baking apples
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c apricot preserves
vanilla ice cream, optional
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Chop walnuts, add 3 Tbsp sugar and flour.
Mix well.
Unfold 1 pie crust and lightly rub with water.
Unfold 2nd pie crust and place over 1st crust forming a border.
Spread walnut mixture.
Evenly slice apples leaving the peel on.
Cut slices in half.
Arrange overlapping.
Combine cinnamon and 2 Tbsp sugar and sprinkle on apples.
Bake until crust is golden brown.
Microwave apricots preserves on high for 30 seconds of until melted.
Brush over apples and crust.
