Bran Yeast Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water (115~ to 120~)
1/2 c. shortening
3/8 c. sugar
1 c. bran
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 beaten egg
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. unbleached flour
Preparation
-
Dissolve
yeast in warm water.
In separate large bowl, combine
shortening,
sugar, bran and salt.
Add boiling water and mix until shortening melts.
Add 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and mix.
Add egg and mix.
Add yeast mixture (yeast dissolved in water)
and
mix.
Add
1/4
cup whole wheat flour and mix. Add unbleached flour (1 cup at a time) and mix.
