Maple-Nut Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
    1 egg, unbeaten
    1/4 c. hot water
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cream the butter; add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Combine water and maple syrup and add alternately with the dry ingredients, beating well after each addition.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Turn into lined or greased muffin tins and bake in moderate (350\u00b0) oven about 20 minutes.
