Sara'S Cheese Biscuit - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Using a pastry cutter, cut the shortening into the dry ingredients until the mixture has the texture of coarse meal. Slowly add the milk and cheese, mixing to form a smooth dough. Turn out onto a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a floured biscuit cutter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet 2-inches apart and bake 10 to 12 minutes. Yields 1 dozen.
