Creamy Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, sliced
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
    2 c. milk
    1 1/2 to 2 c. potatoes, cooked
Preparation
    Cook potatoes, then mash while still hot.
    Cook onion in butter until tender and lightly browned.
    Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Slowly stir in water.
    Cook and stir until slightly thickened.
    Remove from heat and add milk.
    Heat until hot but not boiling.
