Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 (No. 2) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg; mix well and blend in milk. Combine dry ingredients; add to butter mixture.
    Spread half of batter in greased 8-inch round container; cover with 3/4 can pie filling.
    Spread with remaining batter; top with remaining filling.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Serve warm with plain or whipped heavy cream or with vanilla ice cream.
