Oatmeal-Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

2 c. shortening, melted
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 c. molasses
8 c. quick oats
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. ginger
2 Tbsp. soda dissolved in 1/4 c. hot water
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
8 1/2 c. flour
2 c. nuts, chopped
3 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation

Makes big-big batch.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add beaten eggs, molasses, oatmeal, spices and half the flour.
Mix in a dishpan and add rest of flour.
Roll in balls, flatten with fork. Bake 7 minutes in 400\u00b0 oven.
